NORTON, Robert

1953 - 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Robert unexpectedly passed away on August 31, 2024 surrounded by his family at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 71.

Robert is survived by his wife of 46 years Vickie (Blake) and his 3 children Erica (Rob Huybregts), Ashley (Ryan Blackstock) and Brad (Sabrina).  Devoted PaPa to Cadence, Piper, Gunner, McKenzie, Sophia, Daxon and Lily.

He is also survived by his sister Jeannie (Harris Bobbitt) and his brother Roger.  Robert was predeceased by his mother Marie-Ange Dubois, his sister Joyce (Baxter McNeal) and his brother Dale.

Robert was born and raised in the Eastern Townships of Quebec (Stanstead) where he was surrounded by a large family and many friends.  In 1982 Robert, with his wife Vickie and eldest daughter Erica, moved to Calgary, Alberta to start a new adventure.  There they found employment and made many new friends along the way and even connected with some western family.  Our family of five created many longlasting memories by enjoying camping, boating, skiing, road trips and many other adventures.  Robert loved hosting big BBQ's where family and friends would gather and enjoy his beef on a bun, baked beans and corn on the cob.    Robert's number one priority was his family, whether it be his immediate family, or family from back home, he would always be there for us all.  His grandbabies were the joy of his life.

Robert also enjoyed travelling - whether it be by way of cruises, flying off to sunny destinations like Mexico and Florida, or loading up the vehicle and hitting the road,  he was always willing and eager to see what was around the next corner.

Robert - Dad - PaPa - we will miss you beyond words and you will always be in our hearts.  We Love you.

A celebration of life for Robert will be held in Calgary/Langdon at a later date.

To all of you

Thinking of all of you during this difficult time, he was loved by many, and always there when he was needed.
You could always see the twinkle in his eyes.
So happy we got to see him last summer
Love Darlene
