Helen Grace Paige was born on July 18, 1933, in Richmond, Quebec, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 22, 2024, in Richmond, Quebec. Helen will be forever missed by her daughters Wanda (Larry Doyle), Virginia (Bob Karch), Cynthia, and Kendra (Kim Somerville). She was a cherished grandmother to Stephanie, Tracy, Christopher, Nicholas, Angelika, Kara Lee, Austin, Kelsey, Rylee, and Kyle and great grandmother to Cameron, Myles, Alaina, Karson and Brady.
Helen is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her brother Alton Paige, along with many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Kendall Gallup, her parents Arthur and Grace (Smith) Paige, and her siblings Ronald, Lois, and Dorothy.
Helen was a member of the Gore Women’s Institute and supported the 50 Plus Club over the years. She also spent many years supporting the Richmond United Church helping to organize events, donating pies and squares, volunteering in the church kitchen and at afternoon teas at the Wales Home.
She loved to dance and would go out dancing whenever she could. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, playing cards and relaxing at her brother’s cottage in New Brunswick. Helen was an exceptional cook, known by many for her wonderful hospitality and her kitchen filled with the laughter many.
Memories of her warmth, kindness, and incredible wit will be forever cherished by her friends and family.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at the CHSLD in Richmond for their care and compassion.
A private service will be held for the family. The Gallup family greatly appreciates your gestures of sympathy and words of condolences during this difficult time. If desired, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Trinity United Church of Danville or Trenholm United Church.
